I recently got the Skinny SIM card a few days ago, thinking of registering for international services, feeling quite fresh haha, will use it for registering ChatGPT, Claude in the future.
Recording some activation process:
-
First, after receiving the card, insert it into the phone, in most cases, you should be able to see the signal directly, then register an account on skinny.co.nz, after registration, there is a very prominent ACTIVATED, click on it to automatically jump to the second step page.
-
Log in to skinny.co.nz/register on the browser, click
get started now
- Then enter the phone number (it doesn't matter whether you enter the first 0 here, anyway, I entered it), then click
send authentication code
, and then enter the received SMS, it should be a five-digit number
- Then you can successfully activate it haha, next is to choose a plan. Since I only use it to receive SMS, I didn't activate a plan, so I temporarily topped up with a balance of 5 New Zealand dollars to prevent the need to send SMS one day. In the green box below, select TOP UP, you can recharge the balance, you need to bind a credit card first, and a virtual card is also tested to be possible 😁. It is recommended to use the Wildcard virtual card, supports RMB recharge, customer service is very helpful in solving all problems. Using my activation link can save $2: https://bewildcard.com/i/POTATO
I will write a detailed article about the Wildcard virtual card later 🫠
5 New Zealand dollars is approximately $3.06.
Overall, it's not bad! In the future, I plan to get a UK card and a US card haha, so global services should be smooth and worry-free.
